About my work:
Here iím sending 3 works that had a common concept behind them: as a plastic artist, iím pretty bored of the usual way to do things and how those things are showed to the world. In my perception, the arts (in general, every discipline) needs to be more connected between them, since the day that some idea is thought. So, i think that the concept of the poster, as an artistic way of expression is one of the possible routes to a trully complete workart. The poster as an authentic creation, validated by itself but too by his commitment with what is reffering to. I started to create future posters about future shows, i sketch in my mind a basic story and explore the images that this story brings to me, or start with an image about what i think can be the sintesis of something, and looks into this sintetic image the possible drama, the conflict behind it, the original story that this image is telling to me. Usually the images are builded using personal photographies, i had a collection of more than 3000 pictures ready to be mixed, cutted and pasted in photoshop.
So this is (in the way that i can express in english) the Ďaboutí of my works.
About each image, thereís something that maybe will explain the concepts i tried to explain before.
(about the titles and text included in the images, i must explain that the languaje i use actually donít exists, is a free composition of words using some of latin, some of german , some spanish and some english. Why? Because it gives to the image (really it forces the image) the possibility to be part of some cultural structure beyond any that anyone can give it. Is a little bit complicated and even presumptuous, but is the way i feel more comfortable.)
Rundaree: this poster is for a version of "the noble of verona", the first shape of "romeo and juliet", as i rememeber.
Klausbidden: this one is about an opera, the title means "forbidden, not desired, but necesary". The story is a tragical love drama, (of course). This love is forbidden because the people who know the lovers, friends and family, know that if they (the lovers) are together some tragedy will happens between them and everyboy around them. But of course itís a tragedy too if they canít be together. This story guaranteed always a tragedy, and this is what always we are looking for.
Kiksaerese: in this case, the show is with puppets, itís a metaphoric vision of the human condition, expressed trought a single puppet who interact only with sounds and non-physical impressions. In some moment another character appears, itís a courier that gives to the first puppet a closed box that only distracts the atention for a little time (this box is a metaphor of the t.v.).
